Mike and Luanne met and married in the 80s, started a family in the 90s, and over the next 25+ years balanced the responsibilities of raising three active kids and challenging federal government/corporate careers. “Nobody said it was easy…”
They began visiting wineries in the early 90s, and became enthusiastic supporters and consumers of Virginia wine. Seeds of a dream were planted. Wouldn’t it be great to be part of this? evolved into wonder what it would take to run a winery…? and then what if we…? Research, evening classes, multiple winery visits, and late night talks began to make the abstract idea seem…possible.
Upon retiring in 2019 and 2020, they realized it’s now or never and pursued the dream in earnest.
Good Spirit Farm is the dream come to life.
